Briarwood Mall- (Ann Arbor, MI)


The Briarwood Mall is located of the nicest cities in Michigan...Ann Arbor. This is one of the more prestigious shopping centers in the Detroit suburbs other than the Somerset Collection in Troy, MI. The malls current anchor stores are Macy's, Sears, JCPenney, Von Maur, and MC Sports.

Briarwood Mall opened October 3, 1973 and was anchored by JCPenney and Sears, with Hudson's opening in 1974. Lord & Taylor opened in 1978, but closed in 1993 and became Jacobson's, which was based in Jackson, MI, which relocated from its flagship in downtown Ann Arbor.

When Jacobson's went out of business in 2002, the store became Von Maur, which was the first in the state when it opened in September 2003.

The mall received major renovations in 2013 and a Forever XXI opened in 2014 in part of the JCPenney wing.
