Over an hour from the state capital, and two hours from Chicago, Eastland Mall in Bloomington, IL is the best mall in McLean County. The over 768,000 square foot mall is currently anchored by:

The mall opened in 1967 with JCPenney and Sears as its original anchor stores, both of which relocated from there downtown locations.
Eastland Mall is located on IL-9 and accessed from Veterans Parkway( I-55 N/S Business Loop).
Many of the malls original stores moved from there downtown locations to be a part of the malls early years, like Woolworth, Hallmark, Walgreens, Singer Sewing Machines and many more. Also the movie theater and local grocery store also took up occupancy at the mall during the 70's.
Bergner's opened in 1973
A Kohl's Department Store opened ten years later in 1983 after a minor series of renovations.
A food Court was also added in 1989 and another renovation of the malls appeal in 1990.
One of the first stores to open in the mall, Walgreen's, relocated out of the mall in 1991.
Sears expanded there store in 1997
Woolworth discount chain liquidated all remaining stores, including Eastlands location, and was later replaced with an Old Navy.
A federated Department store affiliate, Famous-Barr, headquartered in St. Louis, joined the mall in November 1999, which joined other Illinois locations like Fairview Heights, Peoria, Carbondale, Springfield, and Alton.
Famous-Barr was bought by Macy's and the rest of May Co. namesakes in 2006, and Macys brings new styles to central Illinois.
