No one really kept track of this back then, so glad these pictures were taken at that.Trip To The Mallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11353578745151225482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733023008820151547.post-11507982868589381352017-01-05T15:43:46.035-08:002017-01-05T15:43:46.035-08:00So, what about the Turnstyle store and the movie t...So, what about the Turnstyle store and the movie theaters? I believe the theaters were at the south end of the indoor mall area and Turnstyle was just south of the theaters. However, the memory is not the best. Worked for Phil Sansone at the original Jewel in Deerfield (748) and then helped open the new store at Deerbrook.Denali94https://www.blogger.com/profile/18243570028565309454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733023008820151547.post-21739784647068123572016-09-27T15:24:50.142-07:002016-09-27T15:24:50.142-07:00Thank you so much, that really clarifies things fo...Thank you so much, that really clarifies things for me and some friends fascinated with the history of this property.Trip To The Mallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11353578745151225482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733023008820151547.post-37451267686226952922016-09-27T12:44:08.083-07:002016-09-27T12:44:08.083-07:00Venture was NOT located in the space that became G...Venture was NOT located in the space that became Great Indoors and Wonder. That's where the original Montgomery Wards was, which later became Service Merchandise. Venture was located by the Jewel on the other end. It was originally accessible through the mall and later became Blockbuster Video in the 1980s (one of the first in the area, it was a pretty large space). This space, as well as that end of the indoor mall, was demolished after Blockbuster vacated. It was replaced with Bed Bath & Beyond, Office Max, et.al. billymac72https://www.blogger.com/profile/04246297762035369700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733023008820151547.post-81689409782742518532015-07-14T13:59:40.124-07:002015-07-14T13:59:40.124-07:00http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/deerfield/ne...http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/deerfield/news/ct-dfr-mod-pizza-deerbrook-tl-0709-20150712-story.htmlTrip To The Mallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11353578745151225482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733023008820151547.post-72092136109860788992015-07-14T13:59:22.253-07:002015-07-14T13:59:22.253-07:00UPDATE 7/14/2015- Jewel may open a new store in pl...UPDATE 7/14/2015- Jewel may open a new store in place of the old one: http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/deerfield/news/ct-dfr-deerbrook-mall-tl-0709-20150714-story.htmlTrip To The Mallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11353578745151225482noreply@blogger.com
