Orland Square- (Orland Park, IL)

Orland Square Mall in Orland Park, IL is a Simon owned shopping center 30 minutes from downtown Chicago. The malls current anchors are:
Former Marshall Field's Department Store

The 1.2 million square foot mall opened in 1976, constructed by the development company Homart Development, that would eventually be taken over by Simon Property Group.

In 1995, the mall went under some major renovations to keep up the luxury feel the mall tried to maintain.

In 2006, Macy's took control of the Marshall Field's location when purchased from Federated Department Stores and May Co.
Beginning in 2011 and continuing into early 2013, Orland Square Mall went under another renovation that completely changed the image of the mall, with upgraded entrances, signs, floors, as well as lighting and expanded food court.

Where The Cheesecake Factory is now.

Most of these pictures are from 2012 while the mall was still under renovations.

Most to all of Bakers shoes locations have closed since 2012

Here is the food court during construction.

Popular entertainment chain Dave & Buster's opened a stand alone location in the mall parking lot near Toys R'Us in September 2012.

The Cheesecake Factory opened in December 2012 in the former Bachrach location.

Here is the outside of the mall in 2013.

Does anyone know if the Sears was a Montgomery Ward Store?

  1. The Sears was always a Sears,as the mall was built by Homart (Sears) there never was a Ward's there. As of 2018, the Sears has closed and will be demolished to make a movie theater and the Carson Pirie store has been sold to Von Maur.
